I would like to extend congratulations to all the employees involved with the Transit Optimization Plan (TOP). The plan was approved unanimously by our Board today, and changes to more than 60 of our bus routes will happen in 2018. One of MTS’ goals is to maximize the level of service for our customers. Overall, TOP invests $2 million more into our services to increase our high frequency network and to streamline routes to reduce travel times. Our goal is to increase ridership and fare revenue. It took a lot of work, staff time and public outreach over the past year to get to this point. Again, congratulations to everyone involved. This is a big win today for our customers and for transit in San Diego.
