40,000 concert-goers expected to pack stadium

San Diego – Beyoncé & Jay Z bring their combined talents to SDCCU Stadium on Thursday night for their On the Run II tour and MTS is scheduling extra Green Line trains to accommodate the large crowds. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

To avoid Trolley ticket lines and speed up the boarding process, concert-goers can use the MTS Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app to purchase and store Trolley passes on their phones at any time prior to arriving at transit stations. After the concert, MTS will have an exclusive boarding line only available for Compass Cloud ticket holders allowing front-of-the-line privileges and easy boarding.

MTS provides convenient access to SDCCU Stadium via the Green Line Trolley. Thursday’s Green Line Trolley schedule is as follows:

• Trains will depart each station every 15 minutes throughout the day
• From approximately 5 – 8 p.m. trains between Old Town and SDCCU Stadium will increase departures to every 7.5 minutes
• From approximately 6 – 7 p.m. trains between El Cajon and SDCCU Stadium will increase departures to every 7. 5 minutes
• After the concert, trains will depart frequently in both directions as needed to handle the crowds
• Last train to leave towards downtown San Diego from SDCCU Stadium is 12:37 a.m.
• Last train to leave toward El Cajon from SDCCU Stadium is one hour after the concert ends (approximately midnight)

Concert-goers can avoid the $20 parking fee at SDCCU Stadium and park for free at one of MTS’s park and ride stations, including:

• Morena/Linda Vista Station: 199 free parking spots (13 minutes to stadium)
• Old Town Transit Center: 412 free parking spots (15 minutes to stadium)
• Grantville Trolley Station: 404 free parking spots (4 minutes to stadium)
• El Cajon Transit Center: 469 free parking spots (23 minutes to stadium)
