Transit Driver Appreciation Day - March 17

Transit Driver Appreciation Day is on March 17 and MTS is celebrating at IAD, KMD and the Trolley's A Building!

Transit Driver Appreciation Day is also being celebrated across the United States . And the reason is clear. Transit drivers play a vital role to millions of people across the nation. In fact, Americans take more than 10 billion trips on public transportation annually. 

Here in San Diego, MTS served more than 92 million passengers last year. And the quality of our service continues to improve. On-time performance, customer service and safety indicators were all strong, and we will continue to build on this success.

The role of transit drivers in San Diego is very important. MTS buses and trolleys enhance personal opportunities for people every day by providing safe access to destinations such as work, school and recreational activities.

Drivers continue to deliver safe and reliable service day in and day out, and our agency is in the best shape it’s ever been. They are a large part of this achievement.
