High School Laptop Scholarship Contest

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), Reyes Coca-Cola and San Diego County Office of Education are proud to announce the 2021Laptop Scholarship Essay Contest for high school students across San Diego County. The 40 high school students with the best scored essays will walk away with a brand new laptop and other great prizes!
Contest begins March, 8, 2021. This contest has ended. 40 winners have been announced.

Essay Prompt: 

The Metropolitan Transit System will be introducing a new fare collection system in the summer called PRONTO. This new system will have enhanced features and online tools that will change the rider experience for the better, modernizing the way riders pay to ride transit.

• Identify your top three favorite PRONTO features and/or tools, and explain why they will make a difference for riders, or how they are different from today’s Compass fare system.
• As part of your essay, explain some of the ways MTS should reach students through different communication tools including social media. What social media platforms are best for reaching young students and why?

Accepted essays will be a minimum of 750 words (please limit essays to no more than 1,000 words)
