PRONTO Transit Center Outreach

On September 1, MTS and NCTD will launch PRONTO, the new regional fare system that will make getting and paying for a fare more convenient. MTS is hosting outreach events at transit centers in September to distribute free PRONTO cards to users. Anyone with a PRONTO Card or the new PRONTO app is eligible for free rides on MTS in September. Yes, free rides for a full month with PRONTO!

Find an outreach event at a transit center near you to pick-up your new PRONTO Card at no cost. (Limit one PRONTO Card per person.)

Riders with Reduced Fare Cards (SDM or Youth):

  • MTS can issue reduced fare PRONTO cards for riders with an existing SDM card, or proof of eligibility at the below locations (photo ID with age, Medicare card, etc.)
  • If you have an existing Compass Card Photo ID, please do not get a PRONTO reduced fare card at an outreach event. Call the PRONTO Support Team, go to the MTS Transit Store, or respond to the mailer that was sent to you to have a new PRONTO Photo ID card mailed to you (no cost in August/September).
  • All reduced fare cards issued at outreach events will have their eligibility expire June 30, 2022. Riders will need to go to the Transit Store before June 30, 2022 to have the eligibility extended. (Or, register your reduced fare card to be notified when our new online verification process is available next year!)
