US Sand Sculpting Challenge

Take the whole family to the pier on Labor Day weekend to see the stunning works of art created for the US Sand Sculpting Challenge and Dimensional Art Exposition. Watch 20+ sand scultping masters from all over the world compete to take home the grand prize, people's choice and team awards. Enjoy live entertainment as bands, singers and dancers hit the stage throughout the weekend. Food trucks and beverages (including beer and wine) are also available at the event. 

The US Sand Sculpting Challenge is just two blocks west of the Santa Fe Depot and America Plaza Trolley stations. Hop on the Green Line, Orange Line, UC San Diego Blue Line, or Rapid 215 or 235 for easy access to the event! Plus, you'll save $2 on event admission with proof of transit fare! (Show your Compass Card or active Compass Cloud ticket at the gate.) Want event more savings? On Saturday and Sunday, two kids 12 & under ride free when accompanied by adult with a paid fare - more fun, for less!
