On-Board Passenger Survey Now Available!

Interested in learning who is riding MTS bus and rail service? Or, why MTS passengers use transit? Look no further! The SANDAG On-Board Passenger Survey takes a deep dive into the ridership profile for all bus and rail routes in the San Diego region. 

Some important findings include: 

• 34.2% of San Diego County transit riders were on trips between home and work.
• Nearly 77.8% of San Diego County transit riders use transit four or more days a week.
• 66.0% of San Diego County transit riders are employed on at least a part-time basis.
• 55.2% of San Diego County transit riders are between the ages of 19 and 34.
• Walking all the way is the dominant access and egress mode for all San Diego County transit riders, on average 88% and 90% respectively.
• Approximately 63.7% of San Diego County transit riders Annual Household Income is below $40,000.
