Fans are encouraged to take transit to Snapdragon Stadium for two back-to-back major soccer matches
San Diego – Snapdragon Stadium will host tens of thousands of soccer fans this weekend as Wave FC holds its home opener on Saturday, March 25, and the Mexican La Liga division match-up between the Xolos de Tijuana and Club America is in San Diego on Sunday, March 26. With more than 20,000 fans expected at each event, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will be running extra Trolley service to encourage fans to avoid traffic and take transit to the game. MTS’ Green Line Trolley provides direct service to Snapdragon Stadium, and will run every 15 minutes for both matches.
Saturday, March 25: Wave FC Home Opener, 7 p.m. Kick-Off
With record-breaking ticket sales for a season opener (23,500 tickets), Wave FC fans can skip the gridlock in Mission Valley by using transit.
Sunday, March 26: Xolos vs Club America, 11 a.m. Pre-Game Festival, 2 p.m. Kick-Off
This will be the first professional men’s soccer match in Snapdragon Stadium, involving Mexico’s most popular team, Club America. Crowds are encouraged to arrive early for both the pre-game festival and match due to the large crowds expected.
