
MTS, AMCAL Multi-Housing, Inc., the City of San Diego, the San Diego Housing Commission, and other community stakeholders celebrated the groundbreaking of a new $30 million transit-oriented development (TOD) at the Encanto/62nd Street Trolley Station composed of 67 units of multifamily affordable housing, 1,000 square-feet of neighborhood retail space and replacement parking for Trolley passengers.
The Villa Encantada Apartments is an affordable TOD for lower income households earning between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The floor plans include two and three- bedroom units. AMCAL will partner with LifeSTEPS, to provide complimentary social services for children and adults. Consistent with AMCAL’s commitment to sustainability, Villa Encantada is designed as a LEED Silver Building with cost-efficient and energy saving sustainability features.
