I want to be sure that all MTS employees have a clear understanding about the Hepatitis A outbreak in San Diego. I strongly encourage all employees to get vaccinated; particularly employees on the front line, such as bus and train operators, security personnel, ambassadors, fare technicians and facilities servicepersons should get vaccinated. These employees should also be diligent about washing hands, wearing gloves and using hand sanitizer whenever possible during a shift.
The best defense against Hepatitis A is to get vaccinated. Below is information about how and where MTS employees can do this:
Employees covered by Kaiser Permanente:
• KMD Wellness Fair on September 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4630 Ruffner Rd., San Diego, CA 92111)
• Make an appointment with your primary care physician
• We are looking to schedule onsite clinics for employees covered by Kaiser. We anticipate more information on Monday, Sept. 18. Details will be posted on the MTS Intranet Hepatitis A webpage when available.
Employees covered by Anthem:
• Make an appointment with your primary care physician
• Schedule an appointment at CVS Minute Clinic online or another clinic that accepts Anthem insurance. Be sure to bring your health insurance card.
If you don’t have health insurance through MTS, call 2-1-1 to find out more information about vaccinations.
If you have any questions, please contact the Human Resources Department at (619) 557-4598 and ask to speak to a member of the Benefits Team.
