San Diego – San Diego’s biggest and scariest Halloween party will take place on Saturday night in the Gaslamp Quarter. With transit stations close to all the action, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is running late-night trains, offering mobile ticketing, and encouraging patrons to avoid driving and parking hassles by taking the Trolley.
The 16th Annual Dos Equis Monster Bash will run from from 6 p.m. to midnight. MTS will increase the number of late night trains running on the Green, Orange and UC San Diego Blue Lines that provide direct service to downtown San Diego. Trains will depart all stations every 15 minutes for most of the day, then every 30 minutes throughout the evening. The main entrance to Monster Bash is on Eighth Ave. and Market St., just steps away from the Park & Market Trolley Station!
Last late-night trains leaving downtown San Diego are as follows:
Passengers attending Monster Bash can purchase and store Trolley tickets to their smartphones at any time prior to arriving at transit stations using the MTS mTicket app. This option speeds up boarding and avoids Trolley ticket lines. Multiple mTickets can be purchased on one smart phone too, making it easy for friends traveling to Monster Bash together. For more information, visit www.sdmts.com/mobile-ticketing.
MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked rail way. Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services in 10 cities and the county’s unincorporated areas. In FY 2016, MTS served 92.6 million riders.
