MTS Adding Late-Night Trolley Service for Gaslamp Quarter’s Monster Bash

No Trolley service to Fifth Avenue, Civic Center and America Plaza stations due to Courthouse Station construction (Sycuan Green Line not impacted)
For Sycuan Green Line – use Gaslamp Quarter Station
For UC San Diego Blue and Orange Lines – use Park & Market Station (only four blocks from venue entrance!)
Last trains leaving downtown at approximately 12:30 a.m.

San Diego – San Diego’s biggest and scariest Halloween party will take place on Saturday night in the Gaslamp Quarter and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is running late night Trolleys to accommodate party-goers. Additionally, MTS has Trolley and bus stations only blocks away from all the action.

The Monster Bash Halloween Festival takes place on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6 p.m. to midnight.  Trolleys will depart all stations every 15 minutes for most of the day, then every 30 minutes throughout the evening.

The last trains leaving downtown San Diego are as follows:

• Orange Line to La Mesa and El Cajon (from Park & Market Station): 12:30 a.m.
• UC San Diego Blue Line to San Ysidro (from Park & Market Station): 12:27 a.m.
• Sycuan Green Line to SDSU (from Gaslamp Quarter Station): 12:30 a.m.

Please note: Sycuan Green Line late-night trains only go to SDSU. There is no late service to Alvarado Medical Center, 70th Street, Arnele Ave., Gillespie Field, or Santee stations after the event.

• Qualcomm Stadium: 5,000 free parking spots (Sycuan Green Line)
• Old Town Transit Center: 412 free parking spots (Sycuan Green Line)
• Palm Avenue Station: 499 free parking spots (UC San Diego Blue Line)
• Spring Street Transit Center: 324 free parking spots (Orange Line)

MTS also has 22 bus routes reaching the downtown area including Rapid 215 (SDSU – downtown San Diego) and Rapid 235 (Escondido – downtown San Diego). Both routes will be departing stations every 15 minutes for most of the day. 

Passengers attending Monster Bash can purchase and store Trolley tickets to their smartphones at any time prior to arriving at transit stations using Compass Could mobile ticketing. This option can speed up boarding and avoid Trolley ticket lines. Multiple fares can be purchased on one smart phone too, making it easy for friends traveling to Monster Bash together.
