MTS Boosts Trolley Services for First Full Capacity Concert at Petco Park on Sunday

San Diego – The Hella Mega Tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer marks the return of full capacity concerts at Petco Park on Sunday, August 29. To help concert goers avoid the stress of traffic and high parking costs the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is increasing Trolley service before and after the show.

Concert goers have the option to park free and ride from many convenient Trolley stations to Petco Park, which sits adjacent to the 12th & Imperial Transit Center where all three Trolley lines meet. MTS continues to require face coverings on all public transit per FTA regulations.

Trains will depart a minimum of every 15 minutes on all thee Trolley lines before and after the event.

Green Line:

• 15-minute service from Santee (starting at 2:48pm - 5:18pm)
• 7.5-minute service between Fenton Pkwy and Petco Park (begins at 4:08pm - 5:23pm)
• 15-minute service or better to SDSU or Santee (11:06 pm until approximately 45 minutes after the concert)
  • At least three post-concert trains will go all the way to Santee including the last train

UC San Diego Blue Line:

• 15-minute service all day
• 30-minute service during the concert (starting at 8:30pm)
• 15-minute service to San Ysidro (11:30 pm until 12:15 am)

Orange Line:

• 15-minute service all day
• 30-minute service during the concert (starting at 6:26pm)
• Last regularly scheduled train departs Imperial at 10:26pm
  • No trains between 10:26pm and 11:26pm
  • 15-minute service to El Cajon/Arnele Ave. (starting at 11:26pm - 12:11am)

Touchless Payments

• PRONTO mobile ticketing allows concert goers to avoid ticket vending machines and buy tickets their smartphones. Multiple tickets can be purchased on one phone too.

Affordable cost

• Avoid high costs for parking and ride buses and Trolleys all day long for only $6.

Free Park & Rides

• Dozens of transit centers allow for free parking when taking the Trolley to Petco Park.

MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines across 10 cities and unincorporated areas of San Diego County. Frequencies and spans have been restored to near-pre-COVID-19 levels. Updated schedules can be accessed on the MTS website. MTS requires people to wear face coverings at all times, and practice physical distancing when possible.
