Stuff the Bus is Back! 

MTS’ staple holiday food drive happened the week of December 9. And the big push was on December 14 where we had buses and employees out at 10 different Albertsons and Vons asking people to Stuff the Bus. Thank you to all our volunteers! Results will be coming.

Rack Up! 

Keep an eye out for Trolley cars 4005 & 4008. MTS Rail is trying out a new bike racking tool on board. We caught up with Ernie – an MTS rider – who was using the new rack. Ernie gave it two thumbs up. 

MTS Chief of Staff named 2019 Member of the Year for the Women in Transportation  Symposium (WTS) 

Sharon Cooney has given the top honor for her commitment to the advancement of women working in the transportation field. In addition to helping MTS be one of the best transit agencies in the country, Sharon also actively participates in WTS functions, including the annual conference, the legislative breakfast, speaker program and fundraisers. Way to go Sharon!

MTS Revenue Supervisor Receives APTA Scholarship 

MTS Revenue Supervisor Taylor Gill received the Raymond C. Miller Scholarship from the American Public Transportation Association, awarded to an applicant dedicated to a career in transit. Taylor is pursuing a degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. She has been working her way up the ranks at MTS, starting as a bus operator more than six years ago. She has also been working her way up the education ladder. Before starting at SDSU, Taylor received her AA degree from City College and she is the first person in her family to pursue higher education. Congrats Taylor!
