MTS Trolley and Bus Schedule Information for Labor Day Weekend

San Diego – San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus and Trolley services offer visitors and residents many options to get to popular beaches and activities during Labor Day weekend. Additionally, MTS will be operating on a modified service schedule on Labor Day.

Important service schedule information for Labor Day, September 5, includes:

• MTS buses and Trolleys will operate on a Sunday schedule
• Rapid 215 and 235 – Sunday schedule
• Rapid 237, Rapid Express 280 and 290 – No service
• Sorrento Valley COASTER Connection (Routes 972, 973, 978, 979) – No service
• Express Routes 50, 60, 110, 150 and 870 – No service
• Rural Route 888 – Operates on Tuesday, Sept. 6 instead
• Rural Routes 891, 892 and 894 – No service
• MTS Information & Trip Planning call center will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The Transit Store, Compass Card Call Center, and Customer Service office will be closed
• Friends Ride Free! MTS will allow one friend to ride free with a paying passenger on any bus or Trolley on Labor Day

MTS Access subscriptions are cancelled on Monday, September 5 (Labor Day). Passengers with subscriptions who require transportation on those days must call two to three days in advance to arrange their trip. Hit the beach! MTS buses drop off passengers at the doorstep of many beaches and help travelers avoid the hassles of crowded beach and bay parking. Key MTS bus routes for beach and bay service include:

• Route 8: Old Town – Mission Bay – Mission Beach – Pacific Beach
• Runs every 30 minutes most of the day on Labor Day
• Route 30: Old Town – Pacific Beach – La Jolla – UTC
• Runs every 15 minutes most of the day between Old Town & Pacific Beach
• Runs every 30 minutes most of the day between Pacific Beach, La Jolla & UTC
• Rapid 215: SDSU – City Heights – North Park –Hillcrest – Downtown 
• Runs every 15 minutes most of the day
• Rapid 235: Escondido – Rancho Bernardo – Miramar College – City Heights – Downtown
• Runs every 30 minutes all day
• Route 901: Downtown – Coronado – Imperial Beach
• Runs every 30 minutes most of the day on Saturday, 60 minutes all day on Sunday and Monday
• Route 904 (Free Coronado Shuttle): Coronado Ferry Landing – Hotel Del Coronado – Coronado City Hall
• Runs every 15 minutes all day starting at 9 a.m.
