MTS Ramping Up Trolley Service for NWSL Championship Game at Snapdragon Stadium

NY/NJ Gotham FC take on the OL Reign in a highly anticipated championship matchup

San Diego – The National Women’s Soccer League will hold its championship game for the first time at Snapdragon Stadium this Sunday as the NY/NJ Gotham FC face the OL Reign. A sold-out crowd is expected for this exciting matchup and MTS is ramping up pre and post-game Trolley service for fans wanting to beat long traffic waits entering and exiting the stadium.

Getting to NY/NJ Gotham FC vs OL Reign - Saturday, November 11 at 5:00 p.m.

Fans can access Snapdragon Stadium via the Trolley’s Green Line which drops fans off on the doorstep of Snapdragon Stadium.

Pre-Game:

• Green Line: MTS will add two extra trips between 4-5 p.m., as needed.
• UC San Diego Blue & Orange Lines will run regular Saturday service.

Post-Game:

• Green Line: In addition to regular 30-minute service on the Green Line eastbound and 15-minute service westbound, five extra Trolley shuttles will operate after the game and take fans toward Old Town, downtown San Diego and East County.
• UC San Diego Blue Line and Orange Line will run regular Saturday service.

Important Game Day Tips:

In order to provide the best fan experience, attendees should follow these transit tips:

• Park & Ride: A full list of park and ride location can be found on the MTS website. The best free park and ride locations along the Green Line are:
  
  • Old Town Transit Center (400 spots)
  • Grantville (100 spots)
  • Grossmont Transit Center (220 spots)
  • El Cajon Transit Center (470 spots)

• Get Your Fare Early: To avoid long ticket lines pre-and post-game, fans should download the PRONTO app or use a PRONTO card and load $5 in advance of the game to cover a round-trip Adult fare ($3 for seniors with Senior PRONTO card). Fans must tap or scan their Trolley passes at a station validator before boarding; fares will be checked at the Stadium pre- and post-game.
• Youth Promotions and Discounts: All youth 5 years old and under ride free all day any day. No pass required. Two kids 12 and under ride free with each paying adult. Kids ages 13-18-year-old can ride MTS free with the Youth Opportunity Pass Program (must have a valid Youth PRONTO card or Youth app account).
