“Don’t Panic”- Ride MTS to the Coldplay Concert

Attendees are encouraged to take transit to avoid traffic hassles

San Diego – The iconic band Coldplay will be bringing their 2023 world tour to Snapdragon Stadium for two sold out concerts on Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 28. Large crowds are expected both nights, and MTS is ramping up Trolley service to accommodate attendees. 

Getting to Snapdragon Stadium for Coldplay - Both shows begin at 6:30 p.m.

Concert-goers can access Snapdragon Stadium via the Green Line to the Stadium Station, located directly on stadium grounds.  Please note: The elevator at Stadium Station is temporarily out of service, please use the ramp or stairs while the elevator is being repaired.

Pre-Event:

• Green Line: Extended service will be added from downtown, with trains arriving every 15 minutes through 10:30 p.m. eastbound and 9:20 p.m. westbound. 
• UC San Diego Blue and Orange lines will be on regular schedules, running every 15 minutes or better.

Post-Event: 

• Green Line: MTS will run standard 30-minute service in both directions after the concert, with extra 15-minute service as needed until crowds diminish.
  
  • Last trips leaving Stadium Station after concert:
    
    • To Santee (or any other station east of SDSU): 11:37 p.m.
    • To SDSU: 12:07 a.m. 
    • To Downtown San Diego: 12:37 a.m.   
• UC San Diego Blue and Orange lines will have regular weekday service, with one additional northbound UC San Diego Blue Line trip extending to UTC at 12:01 a.m. (transfer from Green Line at Old Town Transit Center).  Attendees destined for the UC San Diego Blue Line northbound, should leave Stadium Station by 11:40 p.m.

In order to provide the best concert experience, attendees should follow these transit tips:

• Park & Ride: Attendees are encouraged to utilize MTS’ free transit station parking to park their cars and hop on the Trolley. Parking lots are available along all three Trolley lines. Transfers from the Orange and UC San Diego Blue Line Trolleys to the Green Line can be made downtown at 12th & Imperial Transit Center or Santa Fe Depot. 

• Get Your Fare Early: To avoid long ticket lines pre-and post-concert, attendees should download the PRONTO app or use a PRONTO card and load $5 in advance of the concert to cover a round-trip Adult fare ($3 for seniors with Senior PRONTO card). Concert-goers must tap or scan their Trolley passes at a station validator before boarding; fares will be checked at the Stadium pre-and post-concert.
