The FTA drug and alcohol testing regulations require all covered employers to establish a drug and alcohol education and training program for all covered employees. The program must include a general education training component for all safety-sensitive employees and training for all supervisors and/or other company officers, who are authorized by the employer to make reasonable suspicion determinations for employees performing safety-sensitive job functions.
FTA regulations require 60 minutes of training on the physical, behavioral and performance indicators of probable drug use and at least 60 minutes of training on the physical, behavioral, speech and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse.
Training is required every two years and within six (6) months of hire for employees authorized to make reasonable suspicion determinations. If you are required to attend the training, Art Langit will contact you to schedule the session.
