Rail Safety & Environmental Health Goals

Safety

1. Reduce the number of revenue vehicle accidents as compared to fiscal year 2016.
2. Reduce the number of preventable revenue vehicle accidents as compared to fiscal year 2016.
3. Insert role of safety and agency expectations (as described in the System Safety Program Plan) in MTS-Rail job descriptions by January 31, 2017.
4. Include FEMA IS - 100.b (Intro to Incident Command System) training in Transportation Controller and Line Supervisor certification by January 1, 2017.
5. Ten (10) front-line employees to participate in on-site emergency responder training to teach roles and responsibilities of each position at an accident scene by the end of fiscal year 2017.

Environmental Health

1. Develop employee safety programs, including Injury and Illness Prevention Program by the end of fiscal year 2017.
2. Obtain Transit Safety and Security Program Certificates by August 31, 2016.
3. Implement Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials training for targeted employees by August 31, 2016.
4. Implement electronic safety data sheet database by September 30, 2016.
